In Another Life & Eight Days Reviews

Mrs. Condit & Friends Read Books This story is stunning in a way that all Cardeno C's stories are. ... I loved the non-linear way this novella was written. It was new and interesting and really the perfect way to tell Shiloh's story. It is beautifully and concisely written, but the characters are complex and fully developed. I didn't feel like I missed out on anything the way I have in the past with some novellas. The story itself reminded me a little bit of It's A Wonderful Life, one of my favorite Christmas movies. Although there were elements of the story that could have made it a little gloomy, the mood instead was endearing and warm. There was the perfect balance of realism and fantasy. I loved these characters, especially the way that they seemed to be confident and vulnerable at the same time. This was a beautiful story of second chances and the power of love. Highly recommended.

Multitasking Mommas I must say though that when reading this light, short read, it had a dreamy quality to it. I cannot really put the right words on text, but it was like I was participating in the events that unfolded in a quality very dreamlike and quite blurry. It felt so good and in spite of the sensitive topic involved, it left me with a feeling of such great HOPE. Something which could only be felt during hopeful holidays like Christmas....There was something magical about this story that speaks of love, commitment, hope and faith. Yes, this is a very short and light read but it was bigger than the quantity of the text.  It made me think deeper and it reached out to something deeper inside me (and hopefully other readers). It teared up quite a bit but as the story was not sad, it was good tears. Hopeful tears. It was a beautiful.

My Fiction Nook What we get here is an epic love story, a bit of magic and a poignant reminder that everything happens for a reason, even if that reason isn't necessarily known to you. The relationship between Shiloh and Travis was beautiful and sweet and committed, and I loved every minute of it. The sexy times were emotionally charged, and only made their connection stronger. ... What I got from Cardeno C. is a feel-good, sweet and fluffy magical love story. I needed it.

On Top Down Under Book Reviews I really liked the sound of the premise. I enjoyed the delivery much more. A near-death experience. A sudden change in setting, age and time. People thinking your subconscious is aware and perhaps that enables you to know things you ordinarily wouldn't. The concept that some people are just meant to be together, that they are waiting for the right person to come along. That the right person can save you. It is written in a lovely manner. Both characters were delightful. I grew attached to them right from the moment I met them. I loved Travis' sense of humour and (forty one year old) Travis' dirty mouth. I adored klutzy Shiloh's choice of boxers and his attitude in general. The sex for the thirty six/forty one year old Shiloh and Travis was all kinds of erotic and the sex to story ratio was perfect. That Hanukkah was the festive season with meaning (along with Thanksgiving) was a refreshing change from Christmas. ... Beautifully written - lovely characters, clever premise and wonderful delivery. ... If you are in the mood for a festive novella that is a little different - makes you think just a smidge - that is upbeat, sexy and nice, then grab In Another Life. Loved it!

Rainbow Book Reviews Only Cardeno C. can have my eyes welling up with tears at the prologue. The freaking prologue! What would my choices have been if I'd gotten the opportunity to see my future flash before my eyes? ... Hands down I think Shiloh and Travis have some of the best chemistry I've ever seen. And not just sexual chemistry. They banter back and forth, the teasing and verbal wit is wonderful. Of course, their sexual chemistry is off the charts, too. ... I just know that I completely fell in love with both these characters and their story. Thank you, Cardeno, for giving me another beautiful story to read and cherish.
